Artifact Identification
I have some WW I-era artifacts that you are going to identify.
Using your critical thinking skills and links below and other sources (please let me know if you find any other good sites) see if you can make some sense of this collection of artifacts.
Note: Your assignment will differ depending on whether you have a bayonet or other sources.
Start a Gdoc and add your group partners.
Make sure that all group members names are on the doc!
All submissions will be on Jupiter as .pdf or .docx.
Due Thursday, January 14, 2020.
1. If you have a bayonet:
Include the following regarding your bayonet:
1. Country of origin
2. Date
3. Which rifle did it fit?
4. Describe and paste a picture of the rifle and the bayonet on your doc)
5. Current collector's value (check ebay).
6. Find me another WWI bayonet or any other WWI artifact on ebay.
7. What other questions arose as you did your analysis?
Rules for Handling the Bayonets
1. The bayonet must remain in full contact with the table
2. You can turn the bayonet over using two fingers
3. No part of the bayonet can extend past the edge of the table

3. What are the dimensions of the artifact?
4. What are the special qualities of the artifact? Describe how it looks and feels: shape, color, texture, size, weight, movable parts, anything
printed, stamped or written on it.
5. What is it and how was it used?
6. What is the current collectors value (check ebay)?
7. What other questions arose as you did your analysis?
8. Paste a photograph of the artifact on your doc.

Complete a thorough analysis of your document by completing all sections of a Primary Source Analysis Tool from the Library of Congress.
