You have found an old envelope of documents. You can tell that they have something to do with immigrants.

Being the good historians that you are you will examine (analysis) these primary sources, the raw material of history, and then put them together to tell a story (synthesis).

This project is part individual and part group.

First:
Form groups of 5-6.
We will use Pick-Me.

Then:
Each group member will analyze two of the documents using this online form from the Library of Congress. Download the document save it or email it to yourself so that you can upload it to Jupiter. You will do this twice; once for each document.

After you analyze the documents:
Come back together with your group and discuss what you learned from the documents.
Start by putting the documents in chronological order.

Finally:
Tell the story of these immigrants by . . .
(Note: Do not hesitate to use words from the Immigration Vocabulary sheet!)

Some Possible Tools to Tell the Story
A written narrative.
PowerPoint or Prezi.
Performance (skit)
Short video
Some other imaginative format
